Evaluations
Neuropsychiatric, Neuropsychological, and Psychological
Our goal at the Attention and Memory Center is to carefully and comprehensively evaluate and treat our patients in order to improve the quality of their lives. We evaluate for a wide variety of reasons, from questions about learning disabilities and ADHD to dementia and competency. Evaluation often starts before we even meet the patient by reviewing prior records. An office visit starts by meeting with one of our doctors in order to identify the concerns and needs of the patient and their family. We also typically use computerized testing and questionnaires to help with this process. Often, we ask (with the patient’s permission) that family members help us by providing information about the patient. At times, we recommend more extensive testing to develop a better understanding of the patient and their needs. We incorporate all of this information into a report, which includes a treatment plan and specific recommendations to address the patient’s needs.
